ABC, easy as 123, or as simple as do ri me
We saw Billy Elliot tonight and it was brilliant. Highly recommend it. The kid who played Billy has more talent than the entire cast had put together. He was amazing. Three more days of work, one more day of sightseeing, a paper due Friday and a lot of packing to go. I went shopping today and all I bought was crumpets, scones, jam and nutella. I figure I can’t have those things at home so...

This is Paris
My computer refuses to let me upload anymore photos so I’ll try to upload more tomorrow. But yes, reveal in my Paris photos. It was quite possibly the best three days of my life. I head home on the Fourth and I’ll being seeing everyone shortly. Paris is too amazing to explain in words so I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. Tomorrow we are seeing Billy...

You're gonna miss this, you're gonna want this...
When we went to the ballet last night, there were paparazzis everywhere. Apparently this is why: http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard-pictures/Ballet+Russes+at+Sadler%27s+Wells-latest.do?id=23370517&page=1 I took Elvia with me to review Kashoo Moose at The Tricycle in Kilburn. It was a very small theatre set up like the small theatre at IU. It is possibly the best theatre performance...

Well she was an American girl raised on promises
Friday: Jay, a friend from IU who is spending the summer about an hour outside the city, hit up foggy Londontown with us. We showed him a good time at the flat party some of the guys held a few floors down. At some point we ended up in the flat across the hall. Basically all our neighbors are students from the states and these kids are from Delaware. There are millions of people in this city,...

I hate you, tube strike
Forty-eight hour tube strike. My normal 30 min. tube ride is supposed to take me an hour tomorrow according to the journey planner online. But you see, EVERYONE is riding the bus or driving which means traffic is terrible. And then when a bus comes, you can’t get on because the bus is so packed. So basically, you spend an hour waiting for a bus before you get on a vehicle that is at a...

Good God, no more museums
This weekend we hit up the Tate Modern, Tate Britain, the National Portrait Gallery and went back to the British Museum for the third time to admire all the things Britain stole from the rest of the world. I learned something about myself this weekend: I don’t know crap about art. But, that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate it. The Tate Modern had some really cool stuff, but it...

This is heartbreaking...now watch American media... →
It’s Lisa Ling’s sister. I’m sure she told the news stations. If she wasn’t a prominent figure’s relative, we probably never would have heard about this. There are so many reporters from all over who are jailed or sentenced, but American media only plays up the one’s that have stories that will sell. This is what they are teaching me in London…

After not getting a job, this is my biggest fear →
The Watergate break-in eventually forced a presidential resignation and turned two Washington Post reporters into pop-culture heroes. But almost 37 years after the break-in, two former New York Times journalists have stepped forward to say that The Times had the scandal nearly in its grasp before The Post did — and let it slip.

My father: So who is Jude Law? Is she a woman?
Today was brilliant. I head to work, find out I’m interviewing people at the poles for the European elections and find out I get to see Jude Law. You see, there’s this little play called Hamlet. This famous guy William Shakespeare wrote it. And this actor Jude Law (he’s not bad), is playing Hamlet. So when my coworkers told me today that I would be reviewing it, a little piece...

Things my father would hate about London:
For those of you who have the privilege of knowing Ron Brubeck, you know he likes to complain a lot. He likes to complain about his service at a restaurant, traffic and my inability to clean my car. London would kill him(or possibly my mother from annoyance). He’d complain that they don’t put ice in his drinks and say, “Do they expect me to drink this warm?” He’d...

All the world's a stage, and all the men and women...
As You Like It was predictably wonderful. I don’t know any other way to describe it. The theatre is quaint and intimate. Before coming, I didn’t understand why standing up cost more than actual seats, but it’s because you are so close to the stage if you stand. The audience becomes a part of the play…literally. Scenes took place off stage and the audience had to scoot back...
